Jason Statuta
Jason Statuta is the Managing Director and founder of Petrichor Wealth Management in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is affiliated with LPL Financial. Jason started Petrichor Wealth Management with the vision of creating a local investment office that offers independent financial advice to clients without the biases or bureaucracy often associated with Wall Street banks. He serves his clients by taking a planning-based approach and has been solving financial problems for retail clients for the last nine years, and institutional clients for more than 20 years before that.
Jason is a Certified Financial Planner™, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards, Inc. as well as a Certified Investment Management Analyst®, a certification administered by the Investment & Wealth Institute, and taught in conjunction with the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
As a wealth advisor, Jason serves clients in an objective, transparent and independent environment with the goal of operating as a fiduciary, meaning clients’ interests always come first. Jason develops and implements tailored financial plans that encompass estate planning, investment management and overall risk mitigation strategies for individuals, families, and corporations. As an investment strategist and portfolio designer, he creates tailored portfolios that reflect each client’s objectives, risk tolerance, time horizons and investment preferences.
Prior to joining LPL Financial, Jason was a Vice President and Investment Officer with both Raymond James and Wells Fargo Advisors. Prior to being a financial advisor, Jason spent 11 years as Vice President for Goldman Sachs and nearly a decade at Pioneer Investments and Putnam Investments as the Regional Vice President responsible for asset management sales to various institutional clients. His love of finance began when he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College in 1994.
Jason believes strongly in staying involved in his community and giving back to others. He has been actively involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters in the Central Blue Ridge for many years, including serving six years on the Board of Directors, and two years as the President of the Board. He has also served on the Board of Directors at Farmington Country Club as well as the Finance Committee of Charlottesville Catholic School. He is an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and lives with his wife and two children in Charlottesville, VA. In his free time, Jason enjoys playing golf, mountain biking with his family and friends, skiing, hiking, fly-fishing, and cheering on various sports teams for his children.
Christina Echeverria
Christina Echeverria (Chrissy) is a Virginia native raised in Madison, Virginia. From an early age, she developed a love of learning and a genuine desire to help others—values that continue to guide her professional and personal life.
In 2007, Chrissy’s passion for numbers led her into the financial services industry. She began her career at a local bank in Charlottesville, where she built a strong foundation in retail banking with a focus on management and operations. In July 2021, Chrissy joined Petrichor Wealth Management, where she continues to serve clients with dedication and care.
Throughout her career, Chrissy has focused on building meaningful relationships within her community and with the clients she serves. When asked why she does what she does, she says, “People want someone trustworthy, reliable, and invested in their well-being.” Chrissy values every aspect of client service—from attention to the smallest details to helping clients navigate life’s more difficult moments. She brings a positive, proactive approach to her work and believes deeply in accessibility and connection: “I genuinely enjoy helping my clients and building rapport. I am never too busy to lend an ear or offer a helping hand. Your success is my success.”
Chrissy resides in the countryside of Gordonsville with her two energetic children. In her free time, she enjoys tackling Pinterest DIY projects, experimenting with new recipes, capturing memories through photography, and creating new images using her editing skills.
Caitlin Persson
Caitlin Persson began her role as the Director of Client Service and Operations at Petrichor Wealth Management in Fall of 2023. After spending the first decade of her financial career in Charleston, South Carolina, she returned to Central Virginia in 2021. She has completed the SIE exam, Series 7 exam, and Series 66 exam to obtain full registration.
Caitlin is currently attending James Madison University, completing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Outside of her career, Caitlin stays busy raising two children and a dog with her husband. She is always getting lost in books, and can frequently be found hunting for records and other treasures at the local secondhand stores.
Derek Blair
Derek Blair is a Pennsylvania native and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in economics.
After graduation, Derek’s love for the stock market and passion to help others led to a career in wealth management. Before joining Petrichor Wealth Management, Derek spent two years at AllianceBernstein in Nashville, TN, where he partnered with advisors to serve their clients and deepen relationships.
Derek enjoys serving clients to help them achieve their financial goals. He enjoys the smallest of details when it comes to putting together a financial plan and is always happy to answer questions about the capital markets.
In 2026, Derek and his wife, Ashley, relocated to Charlottesville to be closer to family. Outside of work he enjoys traveling, running, reading, and rooting for his Pitt Panthers.
